Leadership West Virginia (LWV) is excited to announce the Class of 2025, which includes 56 outstanding leaders from across the state, representing diverse industries and communities.
These individuals were selected from an impressive list of applicants who demonstrated exceptional leadership, commitment to their communities, and a strong passion for advancing the State of West Virginia.
Pam Farris, executive director of LWV, emphasized the high caliber of this year’s class.
Farris said, “The selection process is competitive since most applicants are qualified, but the individuals chosen this year have already made significant contributions in their careers and communities. We believe they stand ready to take their leadership to the next level and find effective solutions to shape a brighter future for West Virginia.”
Farris emphasized the impact of the statewide business program in its 34th year.
“Leadership West Virginia equips participants with a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our state and fosters collaboration and innovation to find viable solutions,” she said.
The Class of 2025 will engage in a dynamic educational and experience-based curriculum that explores key issues, geography, and industry successes and challenges. The session topics include healthcare, education, energy, government and tourism. Participants also have opportunities to enhance their leadership and communications skills, explore different regions of the state and connect with more than 1,600 program alumni.
Chad Prather, chair of the LWV Board of Directors, spoke about the importance of fostering strong networks among leaders across the state.
“Connection is the largest benefit of this program,” he said. “It’s not just about individual growth but about establishing relationships that cultivate and motivate change. By bringing together talent, knowledge, resources, and passion, we’re creating a statewide community of leaders that we can all count on to bring success to the Mountain State.”
Meghan Parsons, Associate Director of the Jackson County Development Authority (JCDA), was selected to take part. She said she is looking forward to Leadership West Virginia.
“Meeting new folks and having networking opportunities will be very exciting,” Parsons said. “I am eager to visit different areas of the state, discuss and learn about different topics, and be part of team-building experiences.”
Parsons said she has heard from past participants.
“They’ve told me that the friendships and bonds they formed in this program turned out to be the best they have ever made,” she said.
There is one more benefit for Parsons.
“I am looking forward to being pushed out of my comfort zone,” she said.
